One Less Doctor Needed
The neurosurgeon was the first doctor to give us some good news – we don’t need a neurosurgeon! Lydia was referred to have her skull checked because it is on the small side. But he said it looked symmetrical, was demonstrating acceptable amount growth, had no prominent ridges or bumps and was still within the normal range of variability. So we can cross head surgery off the list! I was pretty much skipping out of the hospital over news that there was no news.
Actually we’ve been very lucky in the sense of minimal medical intervention. No long hospital stays or awkward equipment. She’s a very healthy baby besides her whole malformed brain thing. We are very, very lucky to have this girl home with us and be able to care for her.
